How GIFF Gin Cup Works

Teams play in two Divisions with 4 teams each, the Red Division and the Black Division. The top two teams of each Division after the Qualification Tourneys will play each other in a Playoff game to determine the Group Winner. Group Winners will play in Finals for the Cup. Winners will earn the Cup badge (if not awarded for earlier wins) the Runner up will receive a Silver medal badge.  The losers of the playoff games will play each other for the Bronze Medal rank.

Every day there will be 4 tourneys at different times of the day/night so everyone in any time zone gets a chance to play for their team. Points for these tourneys will be 100-150 pts

Tourneys for the GIFF Team Cup will be named respectively on the Tourney Calendar and will  be added to the GIFF Team Cup Section on the League Main Page regularly

If a player is inactive for a whole week, this player will be removed from team and replaced by a new player when one becomes available.
 

Points

Anyone can play in the GIFF Team Cup Tourneys, if a Team member however finishes in rank 1, 2, 3 or 4, they will earn points for their team. The bigger the tourney, the more points you will get.

All Tourneys will be set random seeding and unless not possible be hosted by a HTD.

Top bracket player makes table and invites,  if for some reason the top bracket player is not inviting or not in the lobby, please ask the TD in the lobby to make table and invite both players. As of Jan 17, 2008 - if you request to be placed on a different team, you will be accommodated as much as possible according to team numbers at the end of the month.

The Playoffs

Qualifying Tourneys will be played during the first three weeks of the month

Playoffs and Finals tourney will be played during the Last Week of the Month

Each month there will be a Gold, Silver & Bronze award for the teams which finish 1st, 2nd & 3rd in point standings.  These can be viewed on the "Stats" page. Playoffs will be played in one on one games at a private table with all players of the competing teams present in the lobby until all players of one of the two teams are defeated.  These individual one on one games must be reported on main page under "Report Loss".

Winning team will move on in the brackets towards the finals of the team cup.

First named in each Team will be the Captain

A request to all Players:

We all understand about competitiveness and eagerness to win points for the team, but please let's not forget that this is just a game we play in our time off and it is meant to be FUN. Let's all show good sportsmanship and mind our good manners
